Bucerias.com is an independent travel guide covering Bucerías and the north shore of Banderas Bay — the beach and the town, the whales and the Marietas Islands, La Cruz, Sayulita, San Pancho, Punta de Mita and Puerto Vallarta — written to help you plan well before you go and make good decisions when you are there.
What we cover
- How to get to Bucerías from Puerto Vallarta airport, and how to get around the bay.
- Which experiences are worth booking, ranked honestly.
- What to see in town, around the bay and up the coast, and how to get there.
- Where to stay, from small hotels in the centre to resorts along the bay.
- When to come, for whales, wind, turtles and good weather.
How we research
Journey times, seasons and practical details are checked against operators, transport information and booking platforms, and reviewed regularly. Tour ratings and review counts come directly from GetYourGuide; hotel details from Booking.com. Where something changes often — fares, opening times, rules for the Marietas Islands — we give a range or tell you to check, rather than pretending to a precision that does not exist.
Where we express an opinion, it is an opinion. We tell you when a tour is new and unproven, when a day trip is long, and when the best way to see something is not a tour at all.
How the site is funded
We are a GetYourGuide affiliate partner, and accommodation links go to Booking.com. If you book through a link on this site, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That is the only way this guide is funded — there is no advertising, no sponsored placements and no paid inclusion in any ranking. Read the full affiliate disclosure.
Corrections
Prices change, timetables shift, hotels change hands. If something here is out of date or wrong, please tell us — we would rather fix it than defend it. Write to us on the contact page.
